OK, so this is the folks idea of a modified Toyota. They bought a Toyota Hiace Commuter brand spanking new back in 1985 and then the first thing my dad did was cut a hole in the roof with a jigsaw.
It was then fully converted into a pop-top camping beast. Fitted out with a fridge, sink, oven, stove and plenty of other mod cons it is perfect vehicle for a weekend away (as long as you aren't in a hurry and there are no steep hills)
Here's some happy snaps taken of it taken a couple of years ago.
After chewing through two 3Y engines in its close to 300,000 kms it is about to receive the big block 4YE transplant. Then it will have the power to match its camping ability.
