indeed you are correct, 4age 20V's only have VVT, not VVTi.

IMSC, silvertop 20V's switch on the VVT at around 3000rpm, and turn it off again around 6500rpm...

please - dont quote me on those figures!! They are rough estimates of a vaigue memory!!!

try doing some searching via google, on club4ag and on twincam.org (when it's back online Razz) for some more precise figures.

Besides, your tuner should be able to work out when is best to turn it on and off!!

indeed, a few back to back power runs (maybe 2 each) with and without it on will tell you exactly when to swap over.. ie where the curves intersect.

the blacktop 20v vvt is dependant on throttle position more than rpm. It can turn on at any rpm, when you push the throttle past about 50%.

Just from seat of the pants tuning on mine, I had it engaging at 2500 and off at around 6000. It seemed to give a nice linear power curve that way.
