Identifying my struts?

Gday fellas,
Well, i have on my hands a ke20 with unknown front struts. I am currently lacking in a digital camera, but this will hopefully change soon.
So - i jumped out there, and came to the following conclusions and measurements.
The circumfrence of the tube = 165mm, giving a diameter of ~52.5mm.
Circumfrence of spring approx 405-410mm, with diameter of ~129mm. The hat thing that holds the spring on the bottom appears to have been thumped to hold a smaller spring, but it may just be a strange looking one.
As compared to the measurements of a ke25 strut:
Circ = 155, dia = 49.3
Spring circ = ~435mm. Dia = ~138mm
So, we're working with a thicker strut but a smaller spring. It is running ta22 brakes, i measured up and measurements appear to agree with this.
There is only a couple of small differences i can see with the rest of the gear attached to the strut (forgive me, don't know the names of most of the parts).
-The lower arm that runs from the crossmember has a weld in it, as if two bits have possibly been joined.
-mentioned lower arm has a turning circle stopper on it, ke25 one does not. There is also a place on the (steering drag link?) for a screwed in stopper to go that contacts the stopper on the lower control arm.
-Sway bars etc seem the same and unmodified
-slight difference in caliper mounting, does not look custom at all
-my turning circle is pretty shit
The most obvious conclusion i can come to in this situation is that it has ta22 struts. Is this a fair guess, or..? Previous owner said r33 skyline, but this seems somewhat far fetched, although when asked around, its been done.. But why bother? Keeping in mind that my car was built off a ta22 donor car (everything else, motor/box/diff is ta22).
Thoughts? I'll try get some pics.
Thanks,
Bardin.
