Taking dash out of SV21 Camry - finding water leak

Has anyone ever taken out a dash for an SV21 Camry?
Last year before Christmas the car was outside in the rain for a few days and I discovered a small puddle in the drivers side. After inspecting the windscreen I discovered it must be leaking from the air vent channel. I've been told that I have to take out the dash, door, front panel to check it out further.

ive only had this trouble when i go through a deep puddle, and the carpet only gets wet cause water gets through the holes in the firewall for the electronics.
that said ive only taken out part of my dash, never the whole thing, but im sure you could do it will a screwdriver and a spanner set, and something to mark where everything goes!

can you get in through the servace windows to the windscreen wipers?? that might be a start, see if there is any obvious cracks in the inlet piping. The servace windows should be some in the engine bay, not too sure though. to pull out a dash in a newer car is a real pain, it seems the newer the car the harder it is to pull out the dash. Grab yourself a manual and/or put the screws clips in a plastic bag and lable it or leave the screws in and tape them inplace. thats all i can recomend.
Plan a day or two to spend on your car,
have fun

Yeah I have and Its a pain.
Had to take out the instrumentation, had to drop the steering wheel, remove the shroud etc..just to change those stupid plastic guage needles which bend out of shape with heat.
And also the panel for the heater controls and radio to replace it with a cd player etc.. most of the sections are held with screws but I found the most annoying parts were the clip in panels , damn they are tight! But it is all possible if you have patience and little japanese hands.

Hey Ice, is that a real photo of your Camry? What mods have you done to it?
The windscreen guy and the smash repairs have already taken a look to see if there are any obvious places and came up blank.
So looks like I'll have to buy a screwdriver set and get to work cause I'd rather fix and keep the car if possible.

Sure is, though the air dam is still in unpainted mode and needs some nips and tucks as we made it from scratch as you probably know no one makes em except for a bland one in the states.
Done mainly cosmetic stuff so far, tinted windows, blue xenon h4 headlight bulbs, blue parklight bulbs, graphics, rear wing, side skirts (yet to be fitted) 16" alloys and 55 profile tyres, ummm.. lowered springs 30mm, upgraded shocks. Inside cd system and better speakers, full engine immobiliser and alarm system. Motor wise she's a stock 3sfe 5 sp, maybe at some time in the future will look to upgrade there too.
Just waiting to win lotto like everyone else.. lol
here are some older and newer pics
