my mate has a AE71 rolla that is stock. we are doing some suspension work to it and we got thinking. he just so happens to have some ford ba 6 cyl injectors, a audi tt coupe turbo and efi running gear lying around. we were thinking of throwing it all together with hawk comp that he can get a hold of very easily and cheep. any ideas other than the wiring mess and decomp. how do you recon the 4ac will hold up?
cheers

It should hold up fine - unless you go crazy with boost. Keep it real and enjoy the fairly inexpensive power.
Why would you de-comp it?

no need to decomp it most older toyota engines running pretty low compression anyway so are perfect to throw some boost into, and if it dies there are plenty of 4ac's going for free when ppl want to get rid of them

Do it in the name of paddock value, and laugh every time it dies Razz

Otherwise, sell all the bits that are lying around, and buy a cheap 4AG

Even if it doesnt hold up, there are hundreds of free 4ac's out there Smile

I think the hardest part will be your intake manifold, you can do a simple j pipe off the stock exhaust manifold for the turbo, but if you use the stock intake one it will be a bit of work mating a fuel rail and injectors into it

Unless the "efi running gear" you speak off is a manifold of similar port pattern Razz

The other option is put the turbo on a j pipe, remove the stock carby and have it blow right into the intake mani, and use an SU carbie or some sorta suck through on the inlet of the turbo
