Dont bother wasting money with HPC on the cam cover. Just paint it with high temp engine enamel!

Cam cover .... What cam cover?
all i see is a couple of turbo pipes, a heat sheild and an alternator. I think whatever colour should be bright so you can find it JK
Nah, Body colour is good, or try and find some common theme on the rest of the car, like interior accents, or wheel colour (if not chrome/alloy)

I say red. It's so hidden in that bay you want a colour to make it stand out. The red will look better for longer than the chrome will, especially if you can't be arsed polishing it (with all that stuff around it)

Just polish it up. No coatings at all except a bit of something to stop it dulling again.

rob - it had to come out to assess damage to the flywheel and clutch assembly due to a starter motor grenading + sending metal fragments into that area - was found to be a dodgy repair from the previous owner coming back to haunt me
Shane - for the last time - i dont need another bitch - stop sending me pics of your butt on ICQ
red or gunmetal grey atm seem to be good choices - will look into that and see if that can be done
Re engine bay - ill have to see about wire and hose hiding - Gt4 bays are hideously renouned for no room and wires going every which way

Nope, hammertone dries like it's beaten with a hammer. Wrinkle finish, depending on how thick and how many layers you do and how you let it dry, either goes into a nice speckled look or fully wrinkles up like my cam covers.

Excuse the big pics.
Your wish is my command.
This is what the wrinkle paint *can* look like if you wanted a thicker coat like I did:
This is what the whole thing looks like once I'd finished it, then sanded and painted the raised sections:
And this is what it looks like surrounded by the rest of the engine:

The red tape was from a bygone era when the car was to have red detailing to match the red seats. Seats didn't fit, contrasting colour is now blue, and I've been too lazy to do the wiring yet

that seems to be an issue wioth 3sgte - its a wiring horrible area under there - millions of VSV's and sensors and stuff - half of them probably arent needed now with the aftermarket ECU - may be something i should investigate
the wrinkle finish looks pretty good and would suit the look - though red powdercoat or HPC seems to be a good bet too, something to stand out a bit from under the mess that is the engine bay wiring loom of fun

My eventual plan is to turn my 3S cover in to an Aussie flag, but for the moment, it's staying powdercoated blue.
I think if I was in your shoes, I'd be going with red or black.
