Hi,
I have a 100kw small port and will be doing some head work in the near future. Can i use a 0.8 or 0.5 TRD head gasket or will this raise the compression to much. It has 10.3 at the moment. What kind of kw increase could i expect.
Thanks

If you're using a metal hg, you'll need to deck the block/head. Find out how much is shaved off and work out what the resulting comp ratio from the machining is and use that to work out the thickness of hg you should be using.
If this makes no sense to you, pay someone to do it for you.
Eddie.

I have been told many people havent decked the block with a metal HG and have had no problems

but that doesn't make it a good idea
decking.shavign ensures a good surface to begin with.. better than having to dissasseble the motor later when the HG doesn't seal... think of it as 1% work now to stop 100% work in future
