Hey guys, ages ago i posted on here about why my cressy 1jz died in the arse (totally) eventually we worked out that the timing belt tensioner had literally fallen off and landed on the road. haha....
Got my old man to put it all back together with a new belt and all while i was at work one day...with LOCTITE!!, and i've just checked his work out and found that when everything is lined up, the bottom crank pulley is displaying about 3º advanced i think....
Could this be why she seems to run really really (limp mode?) rich all the time? If i start it and let it idle for a little while (30 secs or so), then rev to about 4,000rpm and back right off, the revs die down to about 500rpm and it will hunt for a second (as if starving for fuel) before coming back up to idle speed. The amount of smoke that comes out when i do this is scarey lol....
Fuel filter was replaced not long ago, as were plugs (iridiums at about 20,000 ago and they look fine), silicon coil boots were cleaned as was around the plugs and such.
Doesnt seem to have any noticible problems other than this, but im pretty sure theres some power to be unlocked somewhere.
