3S-GE engine mount refurb with resin. Wed, 05 February 2003 08:14 Go to previous message
Talkin about the front and rear mounts on an MR2, the hollow circles filled with rubber with a Pipe through the centre to bolt it on with.
I have heard recently that you can fill these mounts with fibreglass resin in the centre, leaving the worn rubber still attached to the centre pipe to absorb shock...

I'm not sure on this idea it seems to me that the resin might be a little hard or brittle for the task.

Has anybody tried this or anything similar, or knows enough about resin or engine mounts to have a decent guess about how this would go?

Gotta do something soon as mine are now pretty worn and the engine is slapping about pretty badly, don't got the money for new ones unfortunatly...
