Well I've jst sign up to this forum & I'm pretty new to them in general but I figured I'd put up a bit of info on my new project as I've got a few Q's to put up in the tech section. I bought it a coupla months ago fully standard right down to the full original separate am radio & tapedeck (all made here in NZ, car is also assembled here), chrome wheel trims & complete unused Toyota tool kit & 160000kms on the clock. Since then I've put on the 15x7 (i think, may be 6 1/2's) longchamp xr4 rims, lowered it about 55mm on custom made springs & shortened shocks (all legal doesn't need cert as it was so fkn high to start with that it's still well over 100mm from the ground), done a full 2 1/2" exhaust through a coby resonator to a sports muffler & a 3" downward tip, all of which makes it sound, perforn & handle like a completely different car, albiet a slow 1, However I plan to fix this as I've got an 18rgeu waiting in my garage, which is just begging to be dropped in to replace the gutless 18r, It's still a while off however as it's gonna cost a few more $$$ but I'll get there. Inside covered the old seats in black velour (seat covers) & there's a tacho mounted on the steering column & a nardi style wooden wheel. I've also completely redone the sound equipmenrt with 6 1/2" Blaupunkt dual voice coil coaxials in the front doors & pioneers in the rear parcel tray, (real prick sorting out the mounting brackets as they are originally fitted with 6x4's) running off a pioneer cd headunit, oh and I've got a 12" kenwood sub + 160w RMS amp in the boot. Also & a 5star alarm & 4 door central locking.
Oh yeah just for the hell of it I've added a few JDM bits (parkings lights, full badge set etc). I still need to know a few things about the 18rg's, but will hopefully find all I need to know in the Tech section
