early ze have dished crown
later ze has slightly raised crown with ceramic coating.

Toby: i've had one friend see them 1st hand and has told me that they are 4agze pistons, reliable source
also have had a second source, over the internet sent pics to him and he had 4agze pistons which he pulled out of his motor next to him, compared the pic to the piston + rods he had and have told me they are right.
Ofcourse i will not doubt your knowledge toby, if i find myself some free time i will come by ur workshop and show you 1st hand.
RobST162: sorry dude no crank, go through ._T_. for that

I have never seen 4AGZE pistons like that, I have just had the head off my 18psi AW11 4AGZE too. The 8.0:1 SC pistons are dished, with tiny slivers missing for valve clearancing. The 8.9:1 pistons have almost no dish, and have slightly larger valve cutouts.
see a pic on my website

sorry you have been told stories. these pistons are definatley early model NA 4AGE pistons. they are 9.4:1 standard 86KW pistons. unless you yourself actually pulled these out of a motor that has never been rebuilt then I would think that you have been lied too.
