I have a weird problem with my 3S-GE Gen III swap. When running normally it does the following:
- after coming to a stop (clutch in), the idle says up around 1100 for 5 seconds before dropping to 800 - 900. I've been told this is normal.
- cold idle is up around 1500.

After using the Air Conditioner the idle up when coming to a stop doesn't kick in, revs instantly drop to 800 as soon as you take your foot off the accelerator (clutch in) and the cold idle is much lower - about 1000rpm. The engine is also feels much less responsive and the fuel economy is pretty average. The engine runs like this until you reset the ECU and the idle settings go back to how they were before using the A/C.

I think the problem is related to how I wired up the A/C. The gen 3 ECU has 2 other inputs from the A/C amplifier (ATS and ACT on the wiring diagram) whereas the gen 1 A/C amplifier doesn't communicate with the ECU at all (besides the clutch signal). The differnce being that the Gen 1 amplifier controlled the A/C idle-up without the ECU, whereas the Gen 3 amplfier must've relied on the ECU to do this.

What do you guys reckon I should do? Is there some way I can get the A/C working without messing up the normal idle? I was thinking of reconnecting the A/C amplifier idle-up VSV in place of the ECU controlled VSV, but would this confuse the ECU?

Sorry for the long post - but this has been annoying me for ages! Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Andy
