Do you mean your dash rattles and your seats vibrate, i have that problem too, my exhaust was leaking so i changed the exhaust and its a lot less now, but the exhaust guy said i have to change the bushes on the engine mount because they are worn then i wont have rattles Wink , my mate told me this a while back but i dont have time to fix it.

Engine mounts is the first place to check.

In particular the front centre one ($120 approx).

There are five all up worth about $700 for em all(ouch)

Front and back being the most prone in an east-west configuration.

Yeah your right Wink , i was told the front and rear are worn, not surprised since my car has done 380,000ks.

Yeah, exhaust too.

Heat shielding on your motor is notorious for wearing out & making vibrations... The holes in the manifold for the heat shield bolts go a mm or so from all the way through to where the gases flow. They blow/wear through from the inside and cause an exhaust leak or a lot of vibration.

yeah that was my next thing to
inspect every thing vibrates,dash,
column surround etc dont think it
could be the exhaust because you would
still feel it rattling or at least hear it rattling.
cost price plus 20% should get 1 for about $50 . Very Happy

Increased rpm's obviously increased the frequency of any moise it induces. As is demonstrated by a sub-woofer - lower frequencies produce the vibrations. In this respect do not rule out that your exhaust, at idle, could be causing noise.

If interior parts are vibrating at a stand still, and not in motion, something is rough at idle. The road causes a lot of vibration itself & should bring out most rattles - anything that would present itself in a normally idling engine anyhow.

Check your mounts, intrior trim, & exhst manifold then see how u go.

how much did it cost?.[/quote]
are you sitting down???
myself got it for $120,but that is at
cost price + 20% and 10% gst but for the
off the street customer they would pay $218.65,
plus i live in the northern territory so it
always cost more up here to buy.
living down there you might get it cheaper
best of luck and i hope it fixes your problem too.

That sounds spot on smrt1.

sm_007, if you are asking for cost as a comparison, you will be pleasantly suprised to know that full retail on the front one is about $110. It will take you all of 20 minutes to replace (cold engine, or the exhaust gets tricky to work round) even if you've never done one before.

...And it will make a shitload of difference if yours is 380,000kms old.

It'll probably look like mine did; casting only left, all signs of rubber long gone Laughing Laughing
