1jz Power steering underdrive for the drift?

hey guys, i wanna start my 1jz mx83 on the drift circuit next year, just thought i'd ask a q.
I heard that v8 soarer power steer pumps shit themselves when under full lock/high RPM...seeing as our new cnc lathe with live tooling  is arriving at work tomorrow, would it be worth spinning up a set of 7050 alloy pulleys for my 1jz and underdriving the alternator and power steering for sustained higher rpm/load? Or am i just totally wrong with my concept? lol
I want to get rid of the hydraulic fan system...gets in the way when working on my rig and its one more thing to shit itself. So i just need the late model 2jz water pump and a shorter (possibly commode) length serpentine belt, correct?
