what is the differance between them if any???
both gen 2 3sgte and gen 2 3sge???
can it be used for a 3sgte??

No oil squirters for the underside of the pistons in the n/a block. No oil feed for the turbo either.
They are definitely different castings from factory as well so sure there must be some structural differences but have never looked into it.

What Justen said is probably the only noticeable block differences you'll find... the rest are in the sump, sump ass'y, head, etc. Both are still same bore x stroke (86mm x 86mm). Also some have 2-bolt mains, some have 4-bolt. I think from memory the ST205 block had 4-bolt mains and the ST185 block had the 2-bolt.

bugger then that rules that out. just found a 3sge block well i should say they are everywhere but no 3sgte ones floating around.

Some early 3SGE have the mount holes bossed and tapped for RWD (north south) setup as well. 3SGTE don't from appearances, and will require a bit of creativity. From your avatar, this wouldn't be an issue for you of course, owning a SW20.
