Steering column problem and yet another 4AGE problem. Tue, 01 November 2005 08:22 Go to previous message
Hey all 'yo friendly toymodders,

I'll start with steering column. It was working perfectly before conversion.. Obviously at some point in the conversion something happened to it.. Still works perfect (ie even the slightest movement turns the wheels, so there is no real slack, just noise). And yeah I can go from stationary to the left with no noise, but if i move from stationary to the right, I get a little bump noise just as I start moving it.

Here's a vid... Not that it shows you much.. (Hint: turn volume up Razz)

Next up is the... another 4AGE problem. Basically I just replaced my dizzy and dizzy cap and finally had the thing working properly as to timing last night. Just when I so much as touched the throttle, it died in the ass. After going in for the night, I was told this was a TPS problem. But when I got to the car today and tried to start it, as soon as I ran the starter I had a massive backfire, but no start... My starter was running fairly sluggishly due to a fairly flat battery, so I jammed the battery on charge for 2 hours. I just went back then and chucked the battery in, went to start it again, and BOOM, the loudest mthrfkn backfire you have ever heard, ear shattering and earth trembling hahah. Here I am going WTF?! The thing was running fine last night (bar the throttle problem), wtf is going on?? What would cause it to backfire that badly and not want to start?

Thankyou good sir's and madam's Smile
Kev.
