Hi,
I am currently trying to source a twin plate clutch for my mr2 and I have sourced a company Road and Track to produce a twin plate clutch that is suitable for sw20 mr2's and gt4's. The details of the intended clutch are as below.
The twin plate unit will use an aluminium cover with steel flywheel. The
individual plates are 190mm in diameter to keep the inertial mass as low as
possible, and will with multiple individual pucks for ease of repair, .
Torque capacity can vary between 600 to 800 ft-lbs depending on the
diaphram we use. this can be selected by the purchaser. If the max torque
unit is selected, it will increase the clutch pedal force to operate it by
about 20%
The unit will come with its own special lightweight steel flywheel which
has an integral "basket" for the plates. This is quite different to
alternate designs around this price. The flywheel does not have a ring gear
machined in or fitted, as we can use the one off the customers existing
flywheel , or supply and fit a new one for a small extra cost
we will use a new generation puck material that gives a very soft
engagement. we can thus dispense with the spring centres and keep the
clutch height virtually standard
A comprehensive overhaul, incl re-lining the 2 plates will be under $500
The price will be $1742.40 ea incl GST, provided we get orders for 10.
The ring gear, if required, is an additional $66 fitted
Delivery will be 10-12 weeks
As stated the info in order for the company to produce this twin plate clutch it is required that we have 10 genuine interested parties. Since myself and one other are already interested that means we need eight genuinely interested parties. I am looking for anybody who is genuinely interested. In order for this to go ahead once we have enough parties interested those parties will be required to pay a 50% deposit.
Cheers
John
