I swear the 4 cyl Camry's sound like they have a pod when they are at low revs under load... Especially in a car park where it echoes...

While we are on the 5sfe, what's the difference between the one put in the camry and the one put in the celica?
I'm sure they would do something so the celica one is putting out more power. But what?
Plus does anyone know if these can take a drop in replacement of larger injectors fine?

Mate,
I believe the Camry 5SFE has got dual Balance Shafts that sit in the Sump.
The Celica one doesn't. Hence a few Extra KWs.
I could be wrong though.

Could be wrong though.

your is an auto, or his is?
if yoursis, make sure you stall it up nicely... with the low power you're dealing with, bogging down will be a much bigger problem than free-spinning

yeah, i've got an auto, can someone please explain this "stalling it up" thing, does that just mean keep the revs up? if so, i was thinking about 2500~3000 rpm? meh, i wouldnt know.
she's got a manual sprinter.
I'm guessing what times i'll run at the moment, i'm thinking like an 18sec ET?
i think it will be a good run.

Stalling it up.
Ok, just keep your left foot on the brake, like, keep it down good, then stomp on the accelerator, flat floor.
It will rev up to around 2,500rpm and just basically feel like the rev limiter does, sort of like it's stalling, but it's not. Then just let foot off brake when you want to go.
But don't do it for long or the oil in the gearbox gets too hot and you can waste your transmission.
Get an oil cooler for the transmission fluid if you want to do it all the time.
As for some power in the next two days:
Change the engine oil. Throw in some mobil 1.
Change the transmission oil
Change the timing belt
Get a better air filter, I just got a K&N panel replacement.
Check your plugs.
Check your brakes while you are at it if you are taking it to the drags.
Run it on 98RON fuel for a while for the system to adjust to it. (Mine's been running 98ron since the day I got it almost 3 years ago).
