Howdy, 3T-GTEU / CT20 once again.. What i want to know are all the specs that people possibly know for tuning them, this thing used to run 0-100 in 7-8secs now it doesnt beat 11secs, never had any pinging etc, but it has got a fair few miles on the clock(200,000k), but has had a rebuild at about 170,000k standard pistons etc. As i say, it used to run 7-8sec 0-100's now its not beating 11secs.. What could possibly cause this? it has reground cams etc. running stock boost.. tuning cant cause this much of a power loss can it? eg, timing.. I had a compression check not long ago and was told that the cyclinders are all in tolerable limits, but i was never told the pressures..I'll have it re-done soon..Theres also a whistling from the intake manifold, eg tap it at idle(accelerator) and you hear a whistle till it comes back down to idle, now im thinking a possible blockage, as i havent heard this before(or noticed before) .. normal or? (just a whistling, or sucking noise/air passing noise when you hit the accelerator, and lay off)
Whole hosts of things that could possibly be wrong, i have also seen a moderate amount of oil in the intake piping, but as far as i know, the ct20's are natorious for oil leaks? even freshly rebuilt ones?
Couldnt pass a Skyline GTE(2L 6cyc) that does 0-100 in 10secs, couldnt pass it till 170k .. so something is deffinatly not right somewhere.. (drag)
Only other thing i can think of is the catalytic convertor, ive been told its been there the whole 200,000k's and the engine has always run rich(fucks cat's).. havent taken it off, it may already be gutted, but if it was fucked i wouldnt be able to devolop the top end would I?(eg, overtaking the skyline at 170k)
