My undersatnding id that the W55 is basically just a 40 with the o/drive (5th gear) added in. It's been years since i saw both boxes sitting together but i don't recall having to change either the input or the output spline from 40 to 55. i THINK they're the same Karl, If you can find him, giant tomato may be able to help you out here too. cheers struan.
