VL common-whore.... P.O.S. this is the car that describes bogan racer wannabe. The chassis of these cars is weak and feble, when compared to the car the engine was made for (R31 skyline). Also just sends out the wrong image. ALso attracts cops, bogan chicks, and bogans. Generally the cars are never well looked after and thrashed to pieces.
You will generally find the interior and paint on these to be of VERY ORDINARY quality. And realistically - you will get FAR more gains with similar $$ spent on the GZE (and better fuel economy)
I'd go the AE86 GZE! If done well, these can be quite a lethal car! Easily flog the pants of a VL turbo. They handle well, look horn, its a toyota, the motor's are built TOUGH and they are just FUN!
If you want to do your own conversion, buy the 4A-C sprinter... but for the extra $4000 i know where i'd be shopping (esp if the GZE has LSD diff, good suspension mods and generally a tidier car)
Plus you can still become a member of Toymods Car Club with a sprinter!
