Hi and welcome!

I've done #1 to my AE102 7A-FE and also did #2 to an EG5 ('92 Honda Civic Si)..dodgy style with lots of duct taping Shocked

For my setup I also increased the size of the intake piping from the top of the airbox to the throttle body, tapering from 80mm back down to 60mm or so. I also put a big scoop from the bumper going into the bottom of the airbox. Oh and I also put a few little holes in the bottom of the airbox.

The #1 setup on my car has had better gains than the civic. Also, when it's cold outside you can REALLY tell a big difference.

I think the AE92 4A-FE and AE102 7A-FE setups can't be all that different. I'll email you the details and results (yes very subjective) soon.

I just found this link which is the PROPER way to do #2 (ie not w/ old pipes and duct tape like I did).
