ok. i also have a rebuild 18R-GU in my RA28, and did the conversion myself (with bit of help )
As for brakes, a simple, bolt in upgrade is either the XT-130 corona strut or RT-132 corona strut complete with their calipers and rotors on them. The XT-130 is a big single piston caliper with solid 10.5" rotor. The RT-132 is a twin opposed piston, 10.5" solid rotor brake (obviously better).
Both of these struts will bolt straight up, and have the same sping, shock etc mountings as the RA23 struts.
If you still want more you can get yourself the pugeot disc as listed in the brake upgrade article on Toymods and space the caliper out, or go the whole way and get the hulix 4-piston caliper.
Also a good idea would be to upgrade the brake master cylinder while you are at it. Upgrading to a hilux 15/16" brand new would be a good idea, esp when new they are less than $200.
Dizzy - im pretty sure an 18R-C dizzy will work just fine. Maybe an idea would be to get one with new/good points, and maybe even build yourself a Jaycar High Energy Ignition kit (good for points dizzy's)
Fuel pump - and 18R-C pump is ok
Get yourself some new engine mounts while you are at it! with the rough idle of the twincam, old engine mounts certainly can move around a bit. And having new urethane (all u can get now) mounts will certainly be better for staving excessive engine movement.
Obviously get a new 2" exhaust, they sound HORN and help the motor a lot.
Any gaskets/seals that you can buy easy enough, buy them. Eg, main seal, camshaft seal (?) and stuff like that. I was lucky here cos my motor was less than 5000k's since a complete rebuild.
LOTS OF RAGS to mop up the mess of gearbox oil, coolant, engine oil, grease, dirt and everything else which you are GOING to make
HAve fun, and enjoy that twincam power!!
