You don't "need" to upgrade your suspension or brakes from a legal perspective, if that's what you mean. It is however a good idea to upgrade tired old suspension and worn out brakes, whether you're required to or not!
Brake upgrades have been covered a hundred times before so I won't go into that. Suspension is the usual - new springs (lowered if you want it to handle better), new shocks, new bushes (urethane for better accuracy).
Your engine should come with a fuel pump (it's attached to the block) so that will work fine. The 18R-C distributor definitely fits and works because I used one on my 18R-GU for a while.
As for other upgrades, it depends what you want to acheive! Note that an 18R-G loves a free-flowing exhaust, so it's not a bad idea to do something about that it you haven't already.
