i got this from club4ag
42) Vehicle Speed Sensor No speed sensor signal to ECU when loaded driving condition with engine speeds 2000 to 5000 rpm. for 8 seconds or more.
problems with VSS(speed sensor)
ECU

43) Starter No starter signal to ECU when cranking in TEST mode.(ie t1 earthed)
problems with Terminal STA on ECU
starter signal circuit
starter relay
ignition switch

i wouldnt worry about the speed sensor, and for the most part no damage will occur thru the STA signal not being recieved by the ecu, this is just my opinion, when i put a 4age in my last car the speed sensor issue was there so i installed a switch for the check engine light and the t terminal, and checked for other codes regularly.
