I find with most discs that I replace on cars that when a clamp doesnt do much good, take the caliper in both hands and press both thumbs into the pot and strong arm it back into the caliper. Good thing about this is that you can vary the amount of pressure you place across different area's of the pot which (if it's a little sticky in places) makes a big difference, clamps only apply pressure in the one place which doesnt work real well when it's not going back in evenly.
