Have you actually seen how wide an EJ20t is? theres enough width in a WRX engine bay to fit a wide V8. theres simply not enough room in a xA23 to fit one as they mount very low in the subie engine bay and their chassis rails sit high unlike the xA23 which has low narrow chassis rails.
then theres also the gearbox problem which isnt really that bad u just gotta remove the front diff from the casing.
i thought about this conversion for the same cost effective reason but it ended up that it would cost twice as much of many of the options out there .BTW ive got a TA22
