just get everything checked mate...including timing chain...and replace it if it looks a bit sus...check also suspension and steering. A thing that also stuffs up on older engines is the rad...check it for being clogged, check the clutch fan to see its still kept its fluid and is running ok...an easy way to check is to try and spin it and if it spins pretty freely it is knackered and needs new fluid in it..if it spins a little bit and not real easily it is still in good nic...check all cooling system..change coolant check rad hoses...have all efi gear checked...and perhaps have the injectors overhauled. Ah well...that wil get u started.
