Tip: Most diffs (atleast from my performance car experience) have a magnetic drain plug, this collects all the little bit of metal sludge crap on it, wipe that clean as well.
Next time you do the diff oil you can see how much stuff is on the plug, gives you a feel for whats going on inside the diff, ie how fact is it wearing.
I change my diff oil ever second oil change so there should be just about non of that crap on it.
engine oil + filter : every 5000kms or less
rear (and front if applicable, eg gt-r): every 10,000kms
gearbox : every 10,000kms (When driven hard, 6 speed getrag every 5000kms)
In the evo6 the right angle drive unit: every 5000kms witout fail !
And yet to destory a gearbox/diff etc in gtr/evo/gts-t, bit i did destroy syncros on 1st, second and 3rd, and 3rd gear on a sw20 mr2 (40,000kms only !) but toyota told me that it was a bad 3rd gear to start with.
Wowow what a ramble.... oh well you get that.
