Yeah I know oil pressure is meant to be much more sensible... that's why I was kind of put off by such high readings.
The gauge is a mechanical one screwed into the oil line, so there's no sender, and I guess it must be crook. The lowest it will read with the engine running is 50psi hot idle - and the engine would have siezed by now if it wasn't gettting oil.
And yes, the vacuum line on the reg is connected... I'm not THAT silly!
