Matt: true 4ac and 4ag bellhousings are not the same,but either can be used behind any a series engine.
the oz-spec bellhousing is from an ae85 (look for the "3A" marking on it next time you have the box out),like the rest of the car is,where the 4AG b'housing is a little different:it runs the clutch fork out of the O/S of the gearbox,so it's away from the exhaust.
