I don't know how much a 3T-GTEU weighs but a 1G-GTE would probably weigh about the same.
The 1G-GTE is the greatest bang for the buck conversion for an RA Celica.
BUT if you're racing and you want better weight distribution, then the 3S-GTE is the go. Better power, newer design, lower weight, more aftermarket support. The problem is that it's a hideously expensive conversion.
A 3S-GTE conversion will cost almost double a 1G-GTE conversion because it has to be converted to RWD. Pretty much everything has to be custom fabricated.
There is one other alternative. The BEAMS II 3S-GE out of the RS200. It produces 157kW naturally aspirated and is already in RWD config. It is also very expensive because it's very new and it's a Lexus engine.
