S13 Silvias and 300ZX's with the VG30DETT use T25 and T25G turbochargers, I don't think any of them were ball bearing.

Skyline GTR's, 200SX's/Silvias all used T28's of varying specs. Some of them were ball-bearing, none of them the same as Garrett's GT series turbos. Some of these, particularily the later S14A and S15 200Sx turbos would be well suited to a retrofit.

The other cars in the Nissan range that use the RB series engines or the single turbo VG30DET's use T3's of once again varying specs, some with and some without ball-bearing races. These turbos have been used time and again for upgrades, many people use them on their 4AGTE's.

Some of the smaller cars like the EXA and ET Pulars used T2's which probably wouldn't be any use in a real performance situation. So that leaves possibly the Micra/March Super Turbo which may have used a smaller turbo. Given there close connection with Garrett, I don't think Nissan would have any need to use any Hitachi turbos.

Maybe you are confused with Mazda (who did use Hitachi's also) or maybe you just didn't know in the first place and you are making shit up again. Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

As for superchargers being suited to larger engines and turbochargers not being suited to them, what have you been smoking, I want some? There is a proper sized turbo or supercharger for just about any application. Turbocharging a non-turbo engine has been time and time again, there are quite a few Hondas that have turbocharger bolted onto stock engines and run for as long as a normal one. Its all in the tuning, having fortified internals helps if something goes wrong, but as long as everything is kept under control there is no reason why turbocharging a non-turbo engine is going to cause adverse problems provided it is done correctly and without going stupid. Please Robbo, feel free to give advice if you understand what you are talking about but its quite obvious that in this case (and some others) you don't. People come onto Toymods for advice, if you don't know exactly how to answer the question, don't try to piece together something you *think* could be right and try to pass it off as factual.

end rant

Sorry everyone for the length of that. I hope someone can take something from that... Very Happy
