I ahve been looking into this too, but I would be using the sc12 off of the 4agze as I am putting it on a 2tg....
but my understanding is....
electromagnetic clutch gets power, and then turns the fin/rotors, whatever you want to call them inside... and produces boost.....
turn off the power to the electromagnetic clutch and then the pulley on the front will still turn with the engine but wont be locked to the fins/rotors on the inside, therefore not producing boost.....
as for this bypass valve or whatever... I have been told that you will still be able to drive the car, when the s/c is off as the fins/rotors have enough "freeplay" in them that they will still spin loosely inside the supercharger, still allowing the engine to then "suck" the air through the s/c....
then as said above, give it power, clutches engage and then you get boost....
I am just goin on what I have been told by a few reputable mechanics here i Adelaide...
haven't tried it yet, but will.
