Remove spark plugs. Turn crank so that cylinder you wish to work on is at top dead centre compression. Using your air compressor and spark plug fitting, pump cylinder full of compressed air. Using a top acting valve spring compressor, compress spring, remove collets, retainer and spring. For reassembly, reverse order. Repeat for subsequent cylinders.

I presume you are talking about your 18RC. Things like 7MGE/2JZGE have the valve springs located in a bore so it is impossible to change springs without taking the head off.
