another way to do it is to get rope and keep stuffing it into the spark plug hole until you can't push the valves in (at TDC of course, or just before TDC and then turn to TDC...

have done this to a datto L16 and my toyota K engine.... works well Smile, just make sure the valves can't go in before you take off the springs...
