You can also reverse bleed the system if you have a syringe and a piece of clear hose. I did this last time i had to bleed my brakes and it worked quite well.
1)Just drain the system completely,
2)suck the brake fluid into the syringe via the hose which is on the end of the syringe,
3)connect to the nipple on the caliper and open the nipple,
4)force the fluid into the system watching the reservoir so it doesn't overflow.
