Is that $600 including labour or is it just parts?
If you can do most of the work yourself it will cost you hardly anything to rebuild a head i refaced all valves and bought 2 new exhaust because one was cracked and the other was too far gone for my liking the only thing left for me to do is some port and polishing (which i have never done before).
Personnaly i would go for the rg.
Think about it you have a engine that produces more horsepower out of the box so its going to be less outlay to start with. A lot of the parts are interchangable with the 18r-c so you can safe bucks there also.
When it comes down to it it is your choice but my vote would go with the rg.
