ssmart Newcomer Registered: April 2003	Re: Motec,Unichip,Wolf 3D,,,,,,? Mon, 12 May 2003 09:21 I've seen a copy of the Wolf 3D version 4 and it has heaps of settings available for the user. Laptop setting appears to be a rather cumbersome process with settings needing to be put in by typing the actual figures for fuel and timing maps. It has the usual array of settings that can be adjusted. Have you looked at the Haltech yet. I believe the price is now a lot cheaper than they used to be and are quite a good unit. On the laptop it is a simple matter of using the keyboard arrows to adjust a bar graph for each setting in real-time without having to look at the numbers around it. The latest windows version will even give a 3D graph which can also be adjusted real-time to give a smooth flow. Of course the Motec is just about as good as it gets. There are others on the market nowdays which may not have all the features, but most engines cannot fully utilize the ability of the Motec anyway. Piggy-back computers???? If you are going to be serious about racing, the only way to go is a full on computer and throw away the original. You will find life so much easier nt having to stuff around with diffrent systems in one car. The 1300 Charade motor isn't a bad little power unit in both single and twin cam guise. I know a couple of guys in Off-Road racing who use them and they are at the pointy end of the class in fairly standard trim except for the computer (Yes one is running a Motec).
