I put the whole 5L in and then checked it and it was down heaps but thought I'll just drive for a bit. I didn't add anymore in and I guess it just settled and now it's over full!!
It's about 3-4mm above "full" now. Should this be ok as I put in 5L with a new filter?
I didn't get a genuine Toyota filter...I got a Ryco one for a 96 Camry V6...should be the same shouldn't it?
And then I read on Planet Soarer that the oil I put in is no good for a TT Soarer....Castrol Magnatec. Do I need full synthetic??
Geez I hate idiots at Autobarn etc. They have no idea. I said I wanted a really good oil for a Turbo car....they asked what type and they recomended some $8 oil for "older engines" like a Holden 202 because they thought it was old. Idiots. Then I asked for a 1996 V6 Vienta oil filter (after one of you guys told me to get it) and they said "no it won't be that...it will be the oil filter for a 4 cylinder Camry because yours is only a 2.5 litre". 
It wouldn't be as much of a problem but I live 150k's from the nearest anything and it was a pain in the neck having to drive another 300k's + what I did in the 2 weeks waiting for a chance to get over to town when I needed an oil change and lost some of the oil when I took the filter off the 1st time only to find out that it was the wrong one.
Never again am I going back there and I am going to listen to you guys.
