this is in a sprinter right??
if so, i bet you a dollar that you have collapsed the diaphragm. (spring that applies pressure in the pressure plate)
i did this exact thing recently, punched the clutch first to second, and then SUDDENLY lost about half the grip.
thought it was the plate worn out, but it was the spring.
drove it for a few weeks like this, but it just wasn't fun anymore.
if you wantto do it on the mega cheap, you might be able to just replace the pressure plate, but with all the assing around you might as well change everything.
oh yeah, don't lose the little clips that hold the thrust bearing carrier to the clutch fork, you can only get them from toyota as genuine parts.
