I'd do a bit of diagnosing first, instead of taking wild guesses.
- Check the signal of your MAP sensor is within spec. A dodgy sensor can cause all sorts of dramas.
- Put a pressure gauge on the fuel rail (should be a constant ~35psi). If that's OK you know the fuel system is not the problem.
- Get a timing light and check your base ignition timing, mechanical advance and vacuum advance are within spec.
- If all else fails, take the car to a shop with a dyno and full spectrum gas analyser. This is the ultimate diagnostic tool if your engine is running badly.
