In my opinion a ct 20 would struggle to supply even modest amounts of boost to a 4.0 litre engine. seeing as they were only really designed to provide a (shitty / hot) 8 psi or so to a poor flowing 1.8 litre. A ct20 would also pose a large exhaust restriction, being so small with very small wastegate, further hurting performance. Boost would be difficult to control.

You need to get your hands on something much larger, T04 's can be had easily/ cheaply, perhaps a ct26 with to4 internals would be an option these are often for sale here as upgrades for the 7mgte.

Go big - even if you only want to run modest boost- the shher capacity of your engine will ensure good performance.
