18R-GEU wont start: Do i need to run a Fuel Pressure Regulator?

Hey, we've got the 18r-ge all wired up and injectors working fine now, it just wont start now. Cant think of what it could be apart from the injectors needing a fuel pressure regulator. Im running a bosch 008 high pressure pump which came with my motor.
I think their might have been one in with the parts which came with the engine so we're hooking that up and seeing if it turns over..
What do everybody else use in their standard efi setups? e.g. 18rgeu's & 2tgeu's?
Just seeing if anyone knew off hand if you require some of of pressure regulator in the fuel line..

also, theres one or two pin outs and wires we cant figure out on the ecu and just in the wiring.. its weird, they could be for a fuel pump or something but we're kinda guessing cos there's little for it to do? mite be the oxygen senson pinout
