In real (rally) driving, RWD just doesn't cut it. This is because in FWD you have a great ability to pull yourself through corners (instead of risking a slide you just plant it) and you can power out and keep control much easier. RWD one just has to be a little more careful in such situations, hence their no-show action in the rally world. Similar principles apply anywhere though. I think you'll find fwd has never been competitve with rwd or 4wd in rally cars. fwd cars have only ever been competitve in the restricted classes biased towards fwd. [Report message to a moderator]
