There have been some fantastic RWD Rally cars, like the Stratos and the Escort. They were very hard to beat for few years. But prior to them there was very little activity in the RWD camp. After the Escort, 4WD really took over with a few FWD exceptions turning in some good performances like the Peugot 306 Maxi in '96 (oh, and the Renault Megane Maxi too). While RWD in the 90's have dropped off the planet all together. Really in the last 15 years RWD haven't held a candle to anything. Maybe if we lived in the 80s RWD would be king, but not today I am afraid. The Cosworth in the early 90s proving the only exception that I can think of. Better traction, better setup into corners. When you power in a RWD, it wants to go out, which is fun, but doesn't help you go faster..... anyway.. enough about all that... [Updated on: Wed, 28 May 2003 12:33] [Report message to a moderator]
