Re: How much will it cost to transplant a 2tg from another car into my car?

you could do it yourself in an afternoon with an engine crane - and a few freinds
get someone you know - who has some mechanical knowelege to help out - as the only main drama i had was getting the gearbox hooked up to the car ( ie onto the spline )
Cost me 150 dollars in beer, lunch and a thanyou to swap my 2t over when i had the ta22 ..
Its very easy - just take the front bumper + bonnet - radiator , radiator support bar ( one that goes along the top between the lights ) , unbolt the engine mounts , unbolt the starter motor , unbolt the gearbox , unhook all fuel and electricity lines Unbolt your exhaust manifold ( probably the hardest bit )- and shuffle it out with an engine crane !
then reverse the process for the 2tg making sure that the thing bolts up to the gearbox correctly ..
Turn key - and Go ! You can use your current exhaust manifold setup for now until you can get to an exhaust shop to get the extractors hooked in ... 2t and 2tg exhaust manifolds are identical in bolt pattern
