Just a note on the side. I went for a ride in a guy's 4AGZE in an AE101 Csi corolla.
I have to say that the thing felt really gutless. Even though he flogged the crap out of it, it didn't feel like it had any torque, and he was basically just revving the thing out to get some speed.
I've also driven an AE101 GZE in an AE82, and this thing had so much torque that you could really feel the pull from 1000rpm in second gear. That ran 8psi, and it was a screamer. Top mount intercooler everything standard, and a 20V box. I think the ratios had something to do with it as well.
