depends,, 10 may be enough, 12 may be better. give the 10 a go.
philmelvin wrote on Sat, 31 May 2003 13:51 | i plan to hook up a thermo fan to my corona this weekend, the fan is 10 inch wide would this been suitable for an 18RGU, or would i need bigger
is this how the wiring goes for the relay
85= constant positive
86= ground
87= output to fan
30= accessories

umm, well the relay coil is across 85/86.
if you have a switch with power and you are grounding thru the relay, then the switched power and ground go across 85/86. if you are using a toyota temp switch, the put fused power (like accessory) to one of 85/86 and the other to the temp switch (which grounds to the engine block).
for the fan, it depens if you run power to fan or the fan is grounded?
if power goes to fan first, then put fused power from battery to the fan, then from fan go to 30. then 87 goes to ground.
OR you could run fused power to 30, then run 87 to fan and then ground the other fan wire....
basically 85/86 is the low current side that switches the relay, and 30/87 is the high current switched side, that you put the fan on....
hope this helps..
