Thanks for tha info Gold28, I had not even researched the strength of the Scorpion diff at all...
I mean I could use a T Series Diff (easiest would be a J-SPec AE86 Diff), but would probably end up breaking it (I am not a hoon I say) 
Volvo diff? Argh! Theres bastardisation and then there is just plain wrong. But I will look into it anyways. Thanks again for that.
Due to the nature of my project I will would like rear discs for peace of mind if nothing else. I suppose that if F series LSD's are next to impossible to find I am barking up the wrong tree here :/ maybe I should just bite the bullet and try for the 8" Diff.

I looked into the scorpion diff, I wouldn't bother. It isn't much stronger than the standard t series diff in the celica. But it does have discs and can get lsd centres. The bigger Borg Warner diffs (Skyline, falcon, Valiant etc) arn't too bad but will have to be cut down and apparently the clutch type LSD's (ie fairmont) aren't up to too much thrashing.
Stew (can't remember his forum name) is using a Volvo diff, maybe this is an option for you.
